SAN DIEGO, CA (10/10/2023) -- Grossmont College's Chelsee Trendler and Palomar College's Caleb Hogle have been selected as this week's PCAC Athletes of the Week.

Trendler helped the Griffins past San Diego Mesa College on Wednesday night in a battle for first place. The Griffins defeated the Olympians 3-1 and gave Mesa their first loss of the season. Trendler was a total standout in the match. In the four sets, she totaled 46 assists, seven set dump kills, 13 digs, and two block assists, and contributed to a team hitting percentage of .283% in a significant match for Grossmont. On Friday night, the Griffins faced the San Diego City College Knights and swept them. Trendler finished with 24 assists, three kills, six digs and one block and a team-hitting percentage of .389%. She finished the week with 70 assists, 19 digs, 10 kills and three blocks.

Hogle and the Comets competed in five matches last week. Starting the week against Grossmont College in a conference match, Hogle led the Comets past the Griffins 13-7. He finished with three goals, two assists, five steals and one exclusion drawn. Palomar then competed in the Riverside City College Tournament and split their time there, going 2-2. Against Citrus College, Hogle finished with three goals, one steal and one exclusion drawn. The Griffins and Comets met again in the tournament, but the Griffins took home the win. Hogle still contributed in the 8-6 loss finishing with two goals, three steals and five exclusions drawn.
