Record Breaking Season Ends for MSJC Volleyball at Grossmont

The MSJC volleyball team saw their season end on Tuesday night as they lost in straight sets at Grossmont in the second round of the 3C2A Regional Tournament.

The Eagles gave a solid effort in the opening set, but came up on the short end of a 25-18 score.  The Griffons would go on to win the second set 25-12 and then put the match away in the third 25-10.

Brooklynn Thomas and Mckenna Conklin each knocked down a team high 6 kills in the match while Trysta Vincelli passed out 14 assists and Kalia Anady had 6.  Megan Gajda and Vincelli each picked up 4 digs and Carley Kruse had two block assists.

The Eagles, who won a share of the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Championship this season, also set a program record with 23 wins this season.  MSJC finished the year with an overall record of 23-6, the team posted a record of 22-5 in 2018.  This was the Eagles' 7th winning season in a row.

Five Eagles also earned awards from the IEAC for their efforts this season.  Mckenna Conklin was named the co-Player of the Year in the league.  Brooklynn Thomas and Carley Kruse were honored as First Team All-IEAC selections and Trysta Vincelli and Megan Gajda were named to the Second Team.
