The Knights had a great start with wins in all three doubles matches. City's No. 1 duo of Sinaia Haskal and Anya Villanueva took dodwn Mt. San Jacinto's Emmy Giron and Breeanah Baron, 8-1.
Jessica Hoffpauir and Lucia Famer defeated MSJC's Trinity Anderson and Savannah Llado, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles, and City's No. 3 team of Arleen Torres/Madeline Satrya got past Sharon Aguilar and Bella Gosiengfiao, 8-4.
Haskal then edged out Giron, 6-1, 2-6, and 12-10, in No. 1 singles.
Farmer only dropped one game in a 6-0 and 6-1 victory in the No. 2 spot.
Hoffpauir lost her No. 3 match 7-5 and 6-4 to MSJC's Baron, but Villanueva (6-3 and 6-0), Satrya (6-3, 7-6), and Torres (6-1 and 6-0) all won their No. 4, 5, and 6 matches over Llado, Aguilar, and Gosiengfiao, respectively.
The Knights have one more match remaining at Grossmont on Tuesday at 2 p.m. A win would secure the outright conference championship.
