Lady Coyotes rally to take down Knights

Rancho San Diego

With back-to-back victories, the Lady Coyotes of Cuyamaca College rallied and took down San Diego City Knights in a nail-biting 5 sets 25-19, 22-25, 19-25, 26-24, and 17-15. The team took the energy from last week's win and put it straight into this match. The defense of the Coyotes won out led by middles Kierrah Mamea and Jaden Cablayan, with 8 blocks each.  Libero Angela Valdez added 14 digs, putting her into the state rankings averaging 2.46 digs per game.

Hiro Garcia stepped up under the pressure and served four aces during a crucial moment in the game giving the Coyotes a huge advantage. Lana Mason returned from her injury to help take on the Knights. Chelsea Hannibal and Erin Geary led in assists with 11 each. Geary was also the kill leader with 10 kills during this five-set game. This back-to-back win is a good sign for the Lady Coyotes, as they head into their Dig Pink Game on October 4th. Go Coyotes and we hope to see you there!
