Knights Salvage a Draw With Late Goals
The Knights, who dropped their first two games of the season, fell behind 3-1 late in the second half on Friday, but scored twice in the final 14 minutes to secure a 3-3 draw at Compton. Isaac Velasquez scored a brace for City, including the game-tying goal, and Brett Woodworth added a goal and two assists.

The Knights, who dropped their first two games of the season, fell behind 3-1 late in the second half on Friday, but scored twice in the final 14 minutes to secure a 3-3 draw at Compton. Isaac Velasquez scored a brace for City, including the game-tying goal, and Brett Woodworth added a goal and two assists.
Velasquez gave the Knights an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 17th minute off a pass from Woodworth, but Compton responded with three consecutive goals in the 32nd, 56th, 75th minutes to grab a 3-1 lead.
City, however, did not go away quietly. They earned a penalty kick in the 76th minute, which Woodworth converted, to get the Knights right back into the game.
Then, in the 85th, Woodworth found Velasquez once again for the game-tying goal, his third of the season.
City goalkeeper Sebastian Guillen had seven saves on the day.
The Knights, who have yet to play a home game, will be on the road again at Santiago Canyon on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and at College of the Desert on Friday, Sept. 8.
City's first home game will be played on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. vs. Saddleback.
