Volleyball Team Rallies Past Mt. SAC For 5th Straight Win

The MSJC volleyball team came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Mt. SAC on Wednesday night to win their fifth straight match.

The Eagles fell behind losing the first two sets by scores of 14-25 and 20-25, before winning the third and fourth 25-21 and 25-17.  In the fifth and final set MSJC completed the comeback with a 15-11 victory.  Brooklynn Thomas had a big night as she recorded 21 kills and 21 digs.  Megan Gajda was also strong as she knocked down 12 kills and picked up 17 digs, Carley Kruse added 11 kills on offense and Trysta Vincelli had 28 assists.  Hailey Frary had 4 block assists to pace the defense at the net, Mckenna Conklin had 3, and Tracy Blanchard added a solo block and a pair of block assists.

MSJC was coming off a win on Tuesday at San Diego City where they won in four sets; 17-25, 25-12, 25-9, and 25-18.  Gajda had a team high 15 kills, Thomas added 10.  Lynsie Arnold had a team best 12 digs in the match and Kruse had 4 block assists.

The Eagles improved their season record to 6-3 and will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Riverside for a 5 pm match.  MSJC will wrap up their busy week on Saturday as they travel to LA Mission to take on both Porterville and Mission.  Match times for Saturday are 11 am and 6 pm.
