SAN DIEGO, CA (4/9/2025) -- The regular season is nearly in the books, and all eyes now turn to the sand courts on April 16 for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Beach Volleyball Individuals Tournament. With San Diego Mesa College closing in on a third straight team title, the individual spotlight now shifts to the standout pairs from across the conference, many of whom are entering the postseason battle-tested and ready.

Leading the charge is Mesa's top pair, Myah Gomez and Jaiden Mojica, who have been lights out all spring. They haven't dropped a dual and have taken down every top duo, including multiple wins over MiraCosta's top teams and a straight-set statement against Grossmont. With an elite mix of control, power, and confidence, they'll be the team to beat.

MiraCosta counters with firepower of its own. Alexis Jones and Daniela Szajkowski have the experience and grit to make a run, and the depth behind them might be even more dangerous. Keira Heckel and Kate Beezer have been one of the most consistent pairs in the PCAC, and Gwen Mitchell and Alexia Bigelow have stepped up in crucial matches with their aggressive net play and strong finishes.

Mesa's depth, though, may be unmatched. Halen Keifer and Lia Go Soco are quietly undefeated and rarely even pushed to a third set. Maria Coronado and Eva Luna bring discipline and communication that wear teams down over time, and Rita Nua and Hannah Hetrick have pulled off multiple three-set wins that show resilience when it counts.

Grossmont isn't short on talent either. Sara Lozano and Norma Ramirez, and Sophia Neeley, with Kylie Smith have battled every top team in the league and pulled off major wins late in the season. San Jacinto's Josephine Springer and Korie Milan are another sleeper pick—athletic, fast, and fearless at the net.

From Palomar, Brisa Necochea and Kylana Madayag have kept every match competitive and shown they can hang with anyone. Meanwhile, Janell Spires and Emma Bambe have quietly put together a solid campaign that could translate into a surprise bracket run.

With the team title nearly wrapped up, the Individuals Tournament brings new stakes, new matchups, and a clean slate. Every rally will matter. Every pair has something to prove. And by the end of it all, we'll know who the best duo in the PCAC really is.
