SWC Nixon goes the distance to record 1st ever No-Hitter in Program History

The Southwestern Jaguars were in a groove last week despite a tough first week losing to Citrus College in a 8 inning one run loss and a mercy rule from perennial playoff team El Camino.  With a bounce back win from Saddleback College 7-4, the Jags were looking to turn it around the following week.

On Wednesday SWC was host to Riverside, defeating the Tigers 6-1. Offensive performances came from Breeanna Simmons and Kianna Knoll going 3 for 3 with one RBI a piece.  Trudie Nixon in 6 innings pitched gave up no earned runs on 5 hits.

On Friday SWC traveled to Santa Ana defeating the Dons 1-0 in a stunning no hitter from Nixon claiming the first ever no hitter in SWC softball history. Erika Anders drove in the lone run to put SWC up by one. The Jaguars had no errors in the stellar defensive performance that set the stage for the no hitter.

On Saturday it looked like another great start as SWC tied Santiago Canyon in the 1st 1-1. In the second SCC scored yet again not backing down offensively racking up 12 hits handing the Jaguars a 7-1 loss with 4 defensive errors.

The Jaguars are 3-3 heading into conference play @ San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday at 3pm.
