Palomar Sweeps Top Honors, Loads First Team After Perfect PCAC Softball Season

SAN DIEGO, CA (4/29/2025) -- The 2025 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) softball season was a showcase of dominance, consistency, and breakout performances — and once again, Palomar College set the pace.

With a flawless 15-0 record, the Comets locked in their 11th straight conference title, continuing one of the most impressive runs in California community college athletics. Palomar's impact was felt across the stat sheets and postseason awards, earning a league-high eight First Team selections, along with a sweep of the individual honors.

Major Awards

  • Player of the Year: Breanna Lutz (Palomar) – Lutz was simply untouchable at the plate, leading the league with a staggering .569 batting average, 29 hits, and 20 RBIs. She also added power with 3 home runs and posted a .645 OBP, wreaking havoc on opposing pitchers all season.

  • Pitcher of the Year: Madison Bedolla (Palomar) – Bedolla was nearly flawless in the circle, going 5-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 27 innings. She gave up just six hits all year and struck out 39, holding opponents to a .069 batting average.

  • Coach of the Year: Lacey Craft (Palomar) – Craft once again steered the Comets through an undefeated conference campaign, blending veteran leadership with breakout talent to extend one of the longest active title streaks in California..

Joining Lutz and Bedolla on the All-PCAC First Team were offensive juggernauts Alexis Huey, Lauren Doepping, and Taylor Armstrong, plus key contributors Zoe Karam, Josephine Heuberger, and Nevaeh Haywood.

Second-place San Diego Mesa earned four First Team nods, highlighted by Braelyn Hill (.490 avg) and ace pitcher Olivia Anderson, who struck out 131 batters and went 11-3 in the circle. Maura Evans and Olivia Anderson rounded out Mesa's presence.

Imperial Valley's resurgence was marked by the selection of Jackie Robles (.375) and Victoria Vallejo, who provided steady production and innings on both sides of the game. San Diego City's Shyann Beddow earned her spot with a .381 average and a .714 slugging percentage, one of the highest in the league.

Rising Talent Highlighted on Second Team

The Second Team All-Conference list featured several breakout stars and reliable veterans. Jackie Robles and Victoria Vallejo (Imperial Valley), Sydney Letzing (San Diego City), and Yazmine Clark (Southwestern) were standouts on both sides of the ball. Marissa Lieras and Chloe Wilson of Mesa provided consistent defense and timely hitting, while Palomar's Gisele Gonzalez, Nalia Nuanez, and Samantha Garcia extended the team's conference dominance beyond the First Team.
