San Bernardino Valley wraps up North title

The San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team secured the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division title on Friday with a 5-0 win over College of the Desert.  It was the third straight title for the Wolverines.

San Bernardino Valley is currently 16-1-2 overall and 8-0 in PCAC play.  The Wolverines have outscored opponents 71-5 for the season and 40-0 in divisional play.  San Bernardino Valley was ranked No. 7 in the California Community College Sports Information Poll on October 23 and sits at No. 10 in the state in power points and No. 4 in Southern California.  Their lone loss on the season was against undefeated Santiago Canyon College, 0-2, on opening day.

San Bernardino Valley finishes up the regular season this week with a home game against San Diego Miramar (2-10-4, 1-6-3) and a road game at MiraCosta (8-9-1, 5-3).

The Wolverines figure to have a large contingent on the All-PCAC Team once the awards are handed out at the end of the season.  Karen Jacobs leads the team in both goals (15) and assists (11) and is a strong candidate for conference MVP.  Jacobs is No. 19 in the state in total points with 41.  Caitlin Saucedo is second on the team with 12 goals while the goalkeeper combination of Vanessa Casillas and Kerstin Lecon have combined for 15 shutouts.
