The first set of rankings are out from the California Community College Women;s Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) and three teams from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference are listed in the top-25. Grossmont (8), MiraCosta (14) and San Diego City (24) all earned recognition on Monday.

PASADENA, Calif. - Defending state champion Irvine Valley is on a 30-match overall win streak and tops the first 2018 State Top 25 Rankings. Gavilan wins the Delta Classic for the first time and its 10-0 record helps it to No. 2 and tops in the North. South Coast South powers El Camino at #3 and Long Beach City at #4 occupy the next two spots with Bakersfield at #5. American River, the Delta runner-up, comes in at #6, after not making last year's final top 25. #7 Cabrillo, #8 Grossmont, #9 Moorpark and #10 Feather River round out the first top 10 of the year.
Six teams that were not ranked in the final top 25 of 2017 are ranked. Eight 2017 final ranked teams (due to the 3-way tie of last year's No. 25 spot) did not make the first rankings for this year.
