Three PCAC teams in the top-15

The women's volleyball season has reached the halfway point and so far it has been a great start for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.  Three of the PCAC programs are ranked in the top-15 in the state.

Grossmont is the highest rated team at No. 4 in the state, according to the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA).  The Griffins are 12-1 overall and off to a 2-0 start in PCAC play.  The Griffins are led by Shaney Lipscomb, who leads the team with 174 kills for the year.  Grossmont's lone loss of the season came to an out-of-state program (Glendale, AZ, 2-3).

Not far behind Grossmont in the state rankings is MiraCosta, who comes in at No. 6 in the CCCWVBCA Rankings.  The Spartans have started the season 8-2 and are also 2-0 in PCAC play.  MiraCosta is led by Haley Torres, who has 146 kills in 10 matches.  MiraCosta's two losses came against No. 12 Cypress (2-3) and No. 2 Irvine Valley (1-3).

Another in the top-15 is San Diego Mesa, who comes in at No. 14 in the state rankings.  The Olympians are 10-3 out of the gate and are 1-0 in PCAC play.  Mesa is led by Lizzie Wilson, who has 202 kills so far.  The lone losses for Mesa on the season have come against No. 11 Pasadena City (1-3), No. 13 El Camino (1-3) and Glendale, Arizona.

Another off to a good start but not ranked in the top-25 is Southwestern, who has started 7-3.
