Yang and Jarosz shine bright at halfway point

SAN DIEGO, CA (10/17/2022) -- At the halfway point of the conference schedule, MiraCosta College's Shih-Kuan Yang and San Diego Mesa College's Sophia Jarosz had big weeks for their teams last week as they both won two matches.

Shih-Kuan Yang, a defender on the Spartan's men's soccer team, scored two goals in two matches last week. The Spartans are sitting atop the men's soccer standings with a perfect 5-0 record.

Sophia Jarosz, a sophomore outside and opposite hitter on Mesa's volleyball team, has been an integral part to Mesa's success this season. This year she is leading Mesa in kills with 196, hitting almost .300 overall. Last week she had two big games, scoring 15 kills against MiraCosta, hitting a .302 and 15 kills (.429), and 12 digs against Imperial Valley, both games were three set matches.
