SAN DIEGO, CA (11/28/2022) -- San Diego Miramar College's Jakob Milling and Grossmont College's Brooke Miller have been named this week's conference Athletes of the Week.

Milling, a power forward, on the men's basketball team, helped lead the Jets to a 2-1 record at the Palomar College Thanksgiving Crossover event. Milling played an integral part in the dismantling of the Oxnard College Condors as the Jets rolled to an 82-42 win. Milling recorded a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Over the weekend he totaled 38 points, 34 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. 

Miller, an outside hitter on the women's volleyball team, had 29 kills and 24 digs in the Southern California Regional playoffs to help lead the only PCAC team to the CCCAA Elite Eight. Against Pasadena City, the sophomore out of Las Vegas had 16 kills and 12 digs.  Against the top-seeded Pirates of Ventura, the 5' 10 outside hitter had another double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs.
