Green and Harvey post season-highs; named AOTW

SAN DIEGO, CA (1/23/2023) -- Last week men's basketball played three conference games by taking advantage of the holiday on Monday and the women's teams continued with the regularly scheduled two. San Diego City College's Al Green and Palomar College's Deajanae Harvey both recorded incredible numbers for their respective teams.

Green and the Knights went 2-1 with their loss coming to Palomar on Wednesday night. On Monday against San Diego Miramar College, Green scored 21 points, then 23 on Wednesday and finished with 26 against MiraCosta College on Friday night in a bounceback 69-64 win over the Spartans. Against Miramar, he had a season-high nine rebounds and recorded two blocks. He totaled seven rebounds and another two blocks against MiraCosta.

Harvey has had herself a season. On Wednesday night the Comets took on Cuyamaca College and Harvey had a career-high 43 points to go along with 11 steals, five in the first quarter alone. She narrowly missed out on her second triple-double of the season as she finished with eight rebounds. On Friday night, the Comets traveled to MiraCosta College and made light work of the Spartans in the 98-27 win. Harvey finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and five steals. 

San Diego City College will open the second round of conference play against Grossmont College on Wednesday before hosting Cuyamaca College on Friday. Palomar will play host to San Diego Mesa College in their first-round finale and will host San Diego City College on Friday night.
