
SAN DIEGO, CA (2/13/2025) -- The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) has announced its Men's and Women's Basketball Athletes of the Month for January. Ayden Lockett (Southwestern College) and Kylee Trujillo (Palomar College) earned the honors after putting up dominant performances throughout the month and leading their teams to strong finishes in conference play.
Men's Athlete of the Month: Ayden Lockett (Southwestern College)
Lockett was a key factor in Southwestern's 8-1 record in January, leading his team with 18.7 points per game—the second-highest in the conference. His ability to distribute the ball was just as impressive, as he racked up 41 assists while maintaining his efficiency at the free-throw line (86.0%). Defensively, he contributed 16 steals, making him a well-rounded leader on both ends of the floor.
Women's Athlete of the Month: Kylee Trujillo (Palomar College)
Trujillo played a pivotal role in Palomar's 7-1 run, establishing herself as one of the top two-way players in the conference. She averaged 13.5 points per game, shot 42.7% from the field, and added 20 steals on defense. Her impact was undeniable as she helped Palomar maintain its dominance in the PCAC standings.
