
The MSJC women's tennis team continues to build toward the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Tournament and have split their two most recent league matches.
The Eagles traveled to Imperial Valley last Tuesday and the team earned an 8-1 victory before suffering a tough loss on Thursday at San Diego City 9-0.
At Imperial, the Eagles won all three doubles matches in straight sets. The number one duo of Madison Williamson and Breannah Baron won 8-4 while the number two pairing of Trinity Anderson and Cameron Royo won 8-2. The number three team of Savannah Llado and Jadyn Brush completed the doubles sweep with a 9-7 victory.
The Eagles continued to dominate in singles winning five of the six matches played. Williamson and Baron both won 6-0, 6-0 while Llado and Brush also won in straight sets. Royo battled her way to a three-set win 5-7, 6-3, and 12-10.
The Eagles have a busy week this week as they wrap up regular season play with three matches. MSJC will host San Diego City on Tuesday, Grossmont on Wednesday, and will travel to Southwestern on Thursday. The Eagles are currently 5-6 overall for the year and 3-2 in PCAC matches.
