Men’s Water Polo Wraps Up Week with Sweep at Crafton Hills Tournament

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College secured a sweep at the Crafton Hills Mini Tournament on Friday to finish the week 2-1 overall and improve its overall record to 6-8 on the season.

ECC 12, Crafton Hills 6

The Warriors opened the action on Friday by downing the hosts. They scored six goals in the opening period and led 8-1 at halftime and never looked back. Blake Klade led the offense with four goals while Marc Bugarin added three. Tyler Reed had one goal and three assists while Scott Fujiwara dished out a team-high four assists in the win. Sam Adams made four saves.

ECC 19, Santa Monica 8

The Warriros had a game on their hands in the second match of the day on Friday as the Corsairs stayed right with ECC in the first half. The Warriors were clinging to a 7-6 lead at the break but a stellar second-half helped them pull away and secure and comfortable win.

Bugarin found the back of the net six times to lead the Warriors while Fujiwara added four tallies to go along with two assists. Klade and Reed added two goals apiece with Reed also leading the team with five assists in the victory. Adams made nine saves in the victory.

Cerritos 16, ECC 7

The Warriors began the week by opening conference play on the road at Cerritos. The Falcons scored four goals in every period and, after each team scored for a 1-1 tie, the Warriors gave up seven unanswered goals to the hosts and never recovered.

Bugarin, Brayden Sanchez and Heitor Trefilio all scored twice for the Warriors in the loss and Jonas Nygren added two assists. Adams made five saves.
