MIRACOSTA MEN'S SOCCER EARNS DRAW WITH GOLDEN WEST

After ninety minutes, the MiraCosta men's soccer team ended their game in a 1-1 draw with the visiting Golden West College.  The Spartans were first to score, capitalizing on a penalty kick in the first half.  The Spartan defense held their ground for the majority of the match, but late in the second half gave up the equalizing goal.

MiraCosta forwards Alexis Aparicio, Rudy Padilla, Erick Cabrera and Luke Adomey kept the pressure on the visitors, making timely runs and pressuring with their speed.  The defense was anchored by sophomore goalkeeper, Jeshua Lombana, who played all ninety minutes in the match. Jose Mondragon, John Rivera, and Leo Ayala all were strong in the back, working with Lombana to slow Golden West down. The Spartan midfield controlled the middle of the field.  Ronin Ross, Juan "Tato" Serrano, and Jesus Ibarra kept possession and won the ball back in transitions. 

The Spartans' next action is on Friday, September 8t,h at Long Beach City College.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
