
Palomar Sweeps Imperial Valley College in Strong Showing
SAN MARCOS, CA (10/30/2024) -- The Palomar College women's volleyball team showcased a commanding performance in their 3-0 sweep over Imperial Valley College (25-10, 25-20, 25-20). The victory highlights Palomar's strong play and teamwork as they continue through conference play.
Ashlynn Craven was efficient as the team's setter, leading with 12 assists and contributing four digs. Delina Becker also made a significant impact with six kills, five digs, and a service ace, totaling eight points for the team.
Janell Spires added four kills and four digs, while Teiora Tinoisamoa displayed her power at the net with five kills on a .625 hitting percentage, along with a solo block and a block assist, accumulating 5.5 points. Brisa Necochea was a force in the middle as well, recording four kills, one solo block, and two block assists, bringing her to six points overall.
Cadence Young and Kylana Madayag each provided solid defensive efforts. Young finished with eight digs, while Madayag had six digs and a flawless .1000 hitting percentage from her two attack attempts. Emma Bambe added one kill on one swing and a block assist for six points, while Mariah Flores also contributed two kills and four digs.
Palomar's defense was exceptional, as they recorded 45 digs in total and effectively limited Imperial Valley's offense. This decisive victory bolsters Palomar's momentum as they head further into conference competition.
