Comets speed past Roadrunners

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/25/2023) -- Palomar College Men's Water Polo closed out their conference schedule with an 18-5 victory over Crafton Hills College on Wednesday afternoon.

Palomar took a 4-0 lead after one quarter and tacked on another four to Crafton's one to make it 8-1 at halftime. With the conference tournament coming up, the Comets didn't let up their attack. They outscored Crafton 10-4 in the second half to claim the win.

Caleb Hogle led the Comets with five goals on nine shots. He also stole the ball three times and recorded four blocks. TJ Turner finished the day with three goals on three shots and two assists. Arleigh Williams also had two goals and three assists. On the defensive side, Phoenix Schultz finished the day with thee steals, while Williams and Ian Ritchie each had two. Tre Turner started the game in the goal for the Comets and allowed one goal. Mitchell Peyton played the entire second half and had four saves on eight shots. 

Palomar improves to 11-13 overall and 3-1 in conference play. They will compete in the Dia De Los Muertos Tournament at Southwestern College on Friday and Saturday before taking the week off to prepare for the PCAC Championships Tournament.
