Cougars Pick-up a Pair of Victories for Coach Enloe's Debut

Men's Water Polo is hosting the Cuesta Invitational this weekend and opened with a pair of victories on the first day. Today was also the debut Coach Greg Enloe, who took the helm as third head coach the college's winningest program.  Coach Enloe followed in the footsteps of previous coaches Terry Bowen and John Marsh, by leading the Cougars to a pair of wins on his first day at the helm.  Under the two previous coaches the Cuesta Men's Water Polo logged 42 straight winning and playoff seasons.  The Cougars opened the tournament with convincing triumphs over perennial playoff contenders Long Beach City, 12-10, and Grossmont, 21-6, to improve to 7-3 on the season.  Freshman Driver Adonios Petroutsas (pict-L) led the Cougars with 11 goals on the day, including falling one goal short of the school's Top 10 scoring games with seven tallies in the win over Grossmont, while Goaltender Yvano Voigt (pict-R) collected 23 saves in the cage.

The Cougars face another tough day tomorrow with another pair of 2022 playoff teams.  They face Riverside (9:20) in the morning and close out the tournament against Mt San Antonio (5:30).
