Palomar Battles Hard in Tough Loss to Pasadena City College

SAN MAROCoS, CA (8/30/2024) -- The Palomar College men's soccer team put up a valiant fight on Friday, but ultimately fell 3-1 to Pasadena City College in a match that saw all goals scored in a thrilling second half.

Despite the final score, the Comets showed resilience throughout the game, with goalkeeper Pablo Aldeco playing a key role in keeping the match close. Aldeco faced a barrage of shots but stood strong, making several crucial saves to keep Palomar in contention.

Pasadena City College broke through in the second half, scoring three goals in quick succession. However, the Comets refused to go down quietly. In the 88th minute, forward Arturo Atilano-Gutierrez stepped up to the penalty spot and calmly converted, giving Palomar their lone goal of the match. His late-game composure highlighted the team's fighting spirit.

As the Comets look ahead, they remain focused on improving with each match. Their next opportunity to bounce back will be Tuesday afternoon when they face Oxnard College at 4 p.m.
