The #3 seeded WSC North Champion Women's Basketball team's season came to an end in the 3rd round of the 3C2A Southern California Play-off with a heart breaking loss to Palomar College, 50-49. Down two, Palomar's Kylee Trujillo hit a 3 with 3.5 seconds left to lift the Comets over the Raiders.
The game looked like it was going to be another Raider boat race as the Raiders went out to a 27-18 halftime lead but the Pacific Coast champ Comets clawed back to cut the Raider lead to one after 3 quarters, 36-35.
From there it was a back and forth battle with both sides exchanging baskets. The Raiders would take a 5 point lead, their biggest in the 2nd half, only for the Comets to cut it to 3 with under a minute to go. The Raiders had a chance to add to their lead but missed two shots at the end to set up Trujillo's heroics.
Mika Jarrett led all scorers with 25 points.
The Raiders end the season 25-5 overall and 12-0 in WSC North.
