Men’s Soccer Takes Down San Diego City 4-1 in Season Opener

The Vikings men's soccer team defeated the San Diego City College Knights 4-1 on Friday evening in their season-opening match.

The Knights scored the first goal against the Vikings within the first fifteen minutes, but then the Vikings answered right back to tie the game with a goal from midfielder Ever Zepeda with forward Enrique Temorres on the assist.

Temorres continued to push the offense as he scored the second Vikings' goal and then forward Kayvon Monfared sliced another one to the back of the Knights' net just shy of a minute later to lead the Vikings 3-1.

In the second half, forward Aaron Hernandez tallied one more for the Vikings to finish the game with a 4-1 victory.

Goalkeepers Everado Morales and Abraham Ramirez each spent a half in goal and totaled one save each.

The Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday, August 29 at College of the Desert at 5 p.m.
