SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College men's soccer team had to settle for a 3-3 tie on the road against San Diego City College on Friday night at SDCC.
After holding leads of 2-0 and 3-2, the Pirates (2-1-1) saw the Knights (0-1-3) battle back to an even score just before the final whistle halted the match.
Brady Powell had a pair of first-half goals to put Coast in front, 2-0 after the first half. San Diego City answered back in the second half with a pair of tallies from Samuel Ruiz to even the score.
Just seven seconds after Ruiz's second goal, OCC went back out in front with a goal by Lucas Fiche from an assist by Landon Clark, putting Coast up, 3-2 in the 83rd minute of play.
But the Knights countered back and four minutes later, Johnson Nguyen found the back of the net to wrap up the scoring.
OCC's Cesar Pedroza-Acosta had six saves, while SDCC's Diego Garcia stopped nine Pirate shots.
Coast will return to action on Friday at home against Pasadena City College, beginning at 4 p.m.
