Citrus College battled Southwestern College to a 2-2 tie Tuesday afternoon.
The Owls move to 1-1-1 on the year with the draw, while the Jaguars sit at 2-0-1.
Citrus struck first, scoring in the eighth minute of action after Anthony Contreras drove a ball into the 18-yard box and Sammy Ghandour flicked it on. A wide-open Isaac Ochoa then tapped it home to put the Owls in front 1-0.
In the 24th minute, Citrus added some insurance as Ghandour found the back of the net. Ochoa stripped a Jaguar defender of the ball in the corner and crossed it into the box. The Southwestern goalkeeper dove to try to get the cross, but it deflected off a defender and fell to Ghandour who tucked it away.
Things took a turn in the second half, however, as Southwestern scored in the 59th and 66th minutes and held on for the 2-2 draw.
Citrus is back at home next week, hosting Imperial Valley College on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
