The LA Pierce Men's Basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 78-65 victory over San Diego Mesa College on Wednesday night.
Pierce was searching for its first win after six tries and very close defeats. However, they were able to get the job done this time.
At half-time the Brahmas led 39-30, opening a lead up to as many as 19 points. But in the second half San Diego Mesa would catch fire eventually tying the contest with five minutes to go.
A pair of back-to-back three points by Pierce freshman Jordan Collins gave them a cushion. Collins led all scorers with 25 points including seven three-pointers made. The Brahmas were able to get timely defensive stops and draw fouls to extend their lead.
Pierce will play Southwestern College at the Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament at Antelope Valley on Friday, Dec 6 at 3:00 p.m.
