OCEANSIDE, CA (4/18/2025) -- MiraCosta College's Daysha Halbert and Kiara Keibel delivered a championship performance for the ages on their home court, winning the 2025 PCAC Beach Volleyball Pairs Championship with a dominant four-match run through some of the top teams in the conference.
Seeded fifth in the bracket, Halbert and Keibel knocked off three of the tournament's top four seeds—including the previously undefeated No. 1 pair from Mesa—to secure the title and cap off a season where they proved they were more than just contenders.
The Road to the Championship:
-
Round of 16: Defeated #15 Coronado/Luna (San Diego Mesa) – 21-13, 21-8
-
Quarterfinals: Knocked out #4 Bambe/Spires (Palomar) – 21-10, 21-15
-
Semifinals: Stunned #1 Gomez/Mojica (San Diego Mesa) – 21-15, 21-17
-
Finals: Outlasted #3 Milan/Springer (Mt. San Jacinto College) – 21-15, 21-17
In each match, Halbert and Keibel brought relentless energy and composure. Against Coronado/Luna, they made a quick statement. Then, they overpowered a strong Palomar duo in the quarterfinals. But their biggest moment came in the semifinals, where they handed Gomez and Mojica their first loss of the season with a confident, clutch finish in both sets.

San Jacinto pair had battled their way through the bracket with their usual blend of athleticism and fire. But Halbert and Keibel matched every punch, closing each set strong to seal a straight-set win and the 2025 crown.
