The baseball regular season ended nearly two weeks ago and the coaches assembled this week to determine an All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Team. San Diego Mesa College pitcher Kobby Lopez headlined the list as the conference Player-of-the-Year.
Lopez is currently 8-1 for the season with a 1.50 ERA. He's struck out 66 batters in 66.2 innings of work, surrendering just 17 walks for the year. Lopez has started 12 games this season, giving up zero runs in five of his starts. His best start of the season may have been against Southwestern College on March 22 when he gave up only three hits in seven innings of work while striking out nine. Lopez also had a 10-strikout performance against College of the Desert on February 10.
Lopez and Mesa continue in the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs this Thursday when they travel to Glendale College for a best-of-three series against the Vaqueros.
