Stephens tabbed conference MVP

The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference regular season came to a close on Friday night, which means it was time for the coaches to convene and choose an all-conference team.  Southwestern sophomore Marquavian Stephens was named the conference MVP.

Southwestern is likely to enter the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs as a top-5 seed after going 24-4 overall and 16-0 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.  The Jaguars were led by Stephens, who was named the conference MVP on Saturday.  Stephens was 1-of-2 Southwestern players to make the first team, with another two making the second team.  Stephens averaged 19.0 points-per-game during the course of the season, shooting 39% from three-point range and 83% from the free throw line.  Joining Stephens on the first team from Southwestern was teammate Diego Edwards, who led the team with 8.4 rebounds-per-game.

Other players the made the All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference First Team included Kai Huntsberry (San Diego City), Dominic Hovasse (San Diego City), Michael Tate (San Diego Miramar), Cameron Barry (San Diego Miramar), Marcus Foster (MiraCosta) and Zadok Wilson (Palomar).

Players named to the second team included; Michael Brandon (Palomar), Anthony Brewer (Palomar), Dejon Jackson (Southwestern), Zachery Reiter (Southwestern), Aren Thomas (San Diego Mesa), Ray King (Cuyamaca) and Isaac Davis (San Diego City).

Southwestern's Anthony Cosentino was named the Pacific Coach Athletic Conference Coach-of-the-Year.
