SAN DIEGO, CA (11/20/2022) -- MiraCosta College made light work of the schedule this season, cruising to their first conference title in program history, so it was no surprise they nearly swept the Conference Awards. Jeshua Lombana was named Goalkeeper of the Year, Shih-Kuan Yang was the Defensive Player of the year and head coach Frank Zimmerman was named Coach of the Year. Palomar College's Diego Picano was the Offensive Player of the Year, while Cuyamaca College's Jose Perez Munoz was Player of the Year. 

Lombana recorded 27 saves in conference play and was a perfect 7-0 on the conference schedule. He allowed just one goal during conference play and only nine all season. Yang was a strong member of the back line for the Spartans all season and cleared the ball numerous times to help keep the Spartans rolling. Palomar's Picano had five goals in conference play with four assists for 14 points. Cuyamaca's Perez Munoz led the conference in goals scored at nine and recorded six assists for a total of 24 points, a conference-best.
