
The San Diego Mesa College men's track and field team won the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title on Saturday with an overall score of 298.5 points. Cuyamaca College finished in second with 152 points while Southwestern College was third (104) and San Bernardino Valley College was fourth (48.5).
It was the third straight PCAC title for Mesa, who finished with wins in 10 different events. The Olympians were particularly good in a handful of events, finishing with multiple top-5 finishers. Mesa finished 1-2-3-4-5 in the javelin, 1-2-4-5 in the 5,000 meters, 2-3-4-5 in the discus and 1-2-3-4 in both the hammer and long jump in picking up valuable points.
Cuyamaca's second place finish was highlighted by wins in eight different events. Southwestern finished with three wins, including the 4 x 100 relay.
It was Mesa's third straight PCAC championship and the fifth in the past six seasons.
