SAN DIEGO, CA (4/19/2025) -- San Diego Mesa College delivered one of the most dominant performances in conference history, capturing the 2025 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Championship with a staggering 367 points at home. The Olympians more than quadrupled the point total of second-place Cuyamaca College (84 points), while San Bernardino Valley finished third with 73 points.
Freshman Ryan Mann was a major catalyst, sweeping the short sprints with wins in the 100 meters (10.45) and 200 meters (21.26). He also helped lead Mesa to a championship in the 4x100 meter relay, teaming up with Marcel Acosta, Josh Schindler, and Eden Perez. Mesa swept the top five spots in the 100 meters and claimed six of the top seven in the 200 meters.
In the distance events, sophomore Ian Rosen maintained his status as one of the state's elite, winning the 800 meters (1:55.13) and helping Mesa sweep the top five spots. The Olympians were just as impressive in the 1500, 5000, and 10,000 meters, where runners like Luciano Roberts, Austin and Aundrey Calvert, Josh Edwards, and Ronald Way contributed to a deep and unmatched distance squad.
Mesa also secured victories in the hurdles and field events. Jaden Dasher won the 400-meter hurdles (54.02), and Lucas Scott dominated the javelin with a state-leading throw of 63.45 meters. Micah Dobson took the triple jump crown at 14.38 meters, and Balamber Izsold was among the top performers in the high jump.
The team's success came from across the board—sprints, distance, relays, jumps, and throws—as Mesa left no room for doubt. With the conference crown secured in commanding fashion, the Olympians now turn their attention to the postseason and a run at state.
