C/O miramarjets.com:
Redshirt freshman Joe Picone will become the Miramar men's volleyball program's first player to move on to a NCAA Division I men's volleyball program. After graduating from Miramar this Spring, Joe will join the MVB program at Cal State Northridge, a member of the Big West Conference. Big West MVB programs have won six of the past 13 NCAA Division I men's volleyball championships.
A 2018 graduate of Eastlake HS, Joe was a stabilizing force for the 2019 Jets MVB team, starting every match and filling multiple roles as a libero, setter, opposite, and outside hitter. At the request of the CSUN coaching staff, Joe redshirted in 2020; he will join the Matadors with three years of NCAA eligibility and will focus on the libero role.
Continuing the fulfillment of a primary goal of the Miramar MVB program, Joe becomes the 13th player to move on from Jets MVB to a four-year university's MVB program, in the last five years.
Congratulations Joe & Go Jets!
