SAN DIEGO, CA (5/1/2025) -- The 2025 3C2A Softball SoCal Regionals begin Friday, May 2, and two Pacific Coast Athletic Conference teams are in the mix. Palomar and San Diego Mesa have earned postseason berths and will open best-of-three series this weekend.

(3) Palomar vs. (14) College of the Canyons

Palomar (36-3) enters the bracket as the No. 3 seed and will host College of the Canyons in San Marcos. The Comets have dominated all season, going a perfect 15-0 in PCAC play and outscoring opponents 398-62. Breanna Lutz (.571 AVG, 9 HR, 54 RBI) leads a relentless lineup that's hitting .434 as a team. In the circle, the duo of Maddie Bedolla (17-1, 1.35 ERA) and Nevaeh Haywood (16-2, 1.92 ERA) gives Palomar elite control and strikeout power. Canyons will have to play near-perfect softball to keep up.

(12) San Diego Mesa at (5) El Camino

Mesa (24-15) heads to Torrance to face fifth-seeded El Camino after a strong second-place finish in the PCAC. The Olympians are led by Braelyn Hill (.442 AVG, 17 2B) and ace Olivia Anderson (19-12, 2.98 ERA, 225 K), who's thrown over 185 innings this year. Mesa's pitching and defensive grit will be key if they hope to pull off the upset on the road.

Format: Each first-round matchup is a best-of-three series, with winners advancing to Round 2 next weekend. Games are hosted by the higher seeds.
