Iman heads All-PCAC Team

The regular season is in the rear-view mirror and with the playoffs starting this week the coaches put together an All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Team over the weekend.  MiraCosta's Julia Iman heads the team after being named the conference player-of-the-year.

Iman led the Spartans to a perfect 12-0 finish in PCAC play and a 20-5 overall record.  She was second on the team in scoring (14.1 ppg) while leading the team in assists (148) and averaging 6.6 rebounds-per-game.  Iman scored in double-figures 17 times during the course of the season, scoring a season-high 26 points against Ventura College during the pre-conference schedule.

Joining Iman from MiraCosta on the All-PCAC First Team was Chynna Cochran and Savannah Beasley.  Other players on the team included; Nikki Mayoral (Palomar), Melena Bland (Palomar), Lilly Crabtree (Palomar), Breanna Archie (San Diego Mesa), Samantha Lemay-Zambrano (San Diego Mesa), Destiny Gilves (Southwestern) and Malia Talavera (Southwestern).

Members of the second team included; Emmy Weimann (MiraCosta), Taylor Williams (Palomar), Julie Saelee (Palomar), Livinia Moa (San Diego Mesa), Jatianna Drummond (San Diego Mesa), Laryssa Kure (Southwestern) and Jasmin Ponce (Imperial Valley).

MiraCosta coach Laurie Byrd was named the PCAC Coach-of-the-Year.

The California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Playoffs start this week and both MiraCosta and Palomar made the field.  MiraCosta was seeded No. 11 and will travel to Irvine Valley College on Friday night to face the Lasers.  Palomar was seeded No. 5 and will host Los Angeles Trade Tech on Friday.
