Comets go perfect in PCAC play

The Palomar women's basketball program capped off a perfect Pacific Coast Athletic Conference campaign with a 91-37 win against San Diego City College on Friday in San Diego.  The Comets are now 24-2 overall and 14-0 in PCAC play.

Palomar went perfect in PCAC play for the first time since 2016-17 when they were 8-0 as part of the PCAC North.  The conference title seemed like a formality for most of the season as Palomar won 13 games by more than 40 points in conference play, with the other win being a forfeit.

The Comets shot 53% from the field while holding San Diego City to just 19% shooting for the game on Friday.  Palomar was led by Deajanae Harvey, who finished with 19 points for the game.  Harvey is one of the leading candidates for the PCAC Player-of-the-Year after averaging 18.2 points-per-game for the year and shooting 51.1% from the field during conference play.

Palomar enters the postseason ranked No. 5 in the state by the California Community College Sports Information Association and is expected to be one of the top seeds when the playoff pairings are announced this coming weekend.
