SAN DIEGO, CA (9/27/2023) -- MiraCosta College has been dominate in the early part of the season and have shown no signs of slowing down. 

In the latest CCCSIA poll, the Spartans have moved up to No. 13, tied with Foothill College from up north. MiraCosta moved up five spots in the poll after a 2-1 win over Southwestern College and a 8-0 win over San Diego City College last week. The Spartans currently occupy the first place spot in the conference race with a 5-0 record, 9-1 overall. Their only loss came from Santa Monica College back in the first week of the season. On Tuesday, the Spartans defeated Imperial Valley College 13-0.

The Spartans lead every offensive category and are led by Lena Bachman who has scored nine goals in 10 games. Roselyn Hernandez and Aleah Minnich each have seven goals through 10 games. Jazmyne Arispe leads the team with eight assists. Goalkeeper Arely Sarabi has recorded five shutouts and has allowed only seven goals this season and has recorded 43 saves.

MiraCosta has 10 games left on their schedule.
