SAN DIEGO, CA (2/13/2023) -- San Diego Mesa College's Daron Traylor and Palomar College's India Caldwell are this week's Athletes of the Week.

Traylor, a guard on the men's basketball team, played an integral part in two wins last week for the Olympians. As they rolled past MiraCosta College, 83-79, on Wednesday night, Traylor recorded a double-double as he scored 30 points and 10 rebounds. On Friday night, the Olympians upset the Palomar College Comets 91-89. Traylor finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, one assist and two steals. 

Starting pitcher for the Comets, Caldwell has picked up exactly where she left off last season and has proven she's on a mission this season. On Wednesday afternoon, the Comets hosted Saddleback College at their temporary home at Bradley Park in San Marcos and the Comets defeated the Bobcats 3-0. Caldwell allowed just two hits and struck out 11 batters. She decided that wasn't good enough and picked up her first career no-hitter on Friday afternoon against Santiago Canyon. The Comets defeated the Hawks 13-0 in five innings as Caldwell allowed just one baserunner on an error by the shortstop. She then retired the next 15 batters in a row, including four by way of the K.
