SAN DIEGO, CA (10/31/2023) -- Grossmont College's Jake Simpson and San Diego Mesa College's Kailyn Jager have been named this week's PCAC Athletes of the Week.

Simpson played in six games last week for the Griffins Men's Water Polo team in which he totaled 27 goals, 13 assists and 11 ejections drawn. Simpson has the second-most goals scored in the PCAC this season at 75 total. He had a season-high seven goals against El Camino College in a 12-11 victory over the Warriors on Friday and a season-high four assists against Santa Monica College in the game before, a 20-10 dominating over the Corsairs.

Jager has been a dominant force for the Olympian volleyball team this season. The 2022 conference player of the year did not slow down as she is currently the conference leader in kills (331) and kills per set (5.09). Last week, the Olympians swept the Palomar College Comets and Southwestern College Jaguars. Against Palomar, Jager finished with 24 kills and 13 digs, hitting .526 percent. On Friday, she totaled 14 kills and 20 digs for her eighth double-double this season.
