SAN DIEGO, CA (11/8/2023) -- San Diego Mesa College's Jyden Schmid and Imperial Valley College's Orian Anderson have been named this week's PCAC Athletes of the Week.

Schmid and the rest of the Mesa Olympians competed at the 3C2A SoCal Regionals in Long Beach last weekend and while the team brought home a second-place finish, Schmid won the entire race with a time of 19:09.4, just four seconds ahead of the second-place runner from Mt. SAC. 

Anderson helped lead IVC to a 3-0 start to their season last week as they won the Pasadena City College Sisterhood of Champions Tournament. Named the tournament's MVP, Anderson finished the weekend averaging 24 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game and three steals per game. She finished the weekend with 72 total points, shooting 60% from the field and 78% from the line.
