The Knights' offense got off to a slow start as they were hanging on to a 2-0 lead after six innings, but then exploded for 13 runs in the final three innings.
With two out in the top of the seventh inning and runners on the corners, Quinn Johnson hit an RBI-single to give City a 3-0 lead. Pfitzner came up next and hit a 2-RBI single, which was followed by an RBI-double by Clark Jr. to put the Knights ahead, 6-0.
Having already retired the side in the first, second, and fifth innings, Perebzak then struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to keep IVC scoreless.
City added a run in the eighth inning on an Isaiah Hilke sacrifice fly to make it 7-0.
After Perebzak added two more strikeouts in the bottom of the eighth, the Knights blew the game open with an 8-run ninth inning. Stewart scored on a passed ball, Clark Jr. doubled in a run, Julian Nunez and Randy Lopez-Acosta hit back-to-back RBI singles, then three runs scored on Stewart's fly ball to right field, and finally, Stewart scored again on a passed ball.
Perebzak, who became the second Knight to throw a complete game shutout this season, allowed only three hits on the day as he improved to 4-5 on the year, while the Knights improved to 18-17 overall and 8-13 in the PCAC.
Jacob Hennessey also pitched a complete game shutout on February 7.
City will play its final home game of the season at Morley Field on Friday at 2 p.m. against Imperial Valley.
The Knights will conclude the season with a 3-game series, all at Mesa, beginning next Tuesday, April 25.
