Three Straight Wins With Nguyen (MVP) and St. Julian Named to All-Tourney

The Knights started the 3-day invitational with a 65-57 win over Reedley in which St. Julian nearly missed a triple double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and eight steals. Nguyen had a strong all-around game as well with 14 points, six rebounds, five steals, and four blocks.
City was down a point going into the fourth quarter in Thursday's game against Reedley, but the Knights outscored the Tigers, 23-14, in that final period and went on to win, 65-57.
On Friday night against Chaffey, the Knights were ahead 36-35 late in the third quarter when they started a 12-3 run to take control of the game. City's defense held Chaffey to just nine points in the fourth quarter and only one point in the final six minutes of the game.
Nguyen recorded a double-double in the 57-45 win over Chaffey with 14 points, 12 rebounds, six blocks, and three steals. D'Ajanae Lewis and Cusha Landry added 12 points a piece.
In Saturday's matchup with Saddleback, the Knights did not allow the Bobcats to score a point in the first quarter as they jumped out to a 15-0 lead. They outscored Saddleback 24-13 in the second quarter to built a 39-13 halftime lead and then cruised to a 78-37 victory.
Four Knights scored in double figures, including Landry who led the team with 14 points. Lewis provided 13 points and four assists, while Christina Bowen added 10 points. Nguyen had 10 points and five rebounds in only 13 minutes of action.
The Knights do not have another game until December 7 when they host San Bernardino Valley at 7 p.m. as part of the 2-day Knights Krossover. City will also host Compton on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
