CROSSTOWN RIVALRY ENDS UP ONE SIDED

The Spartans were hungry to add another shutout game to their stats on Friday. The Spartans played their crosstown rivalry against the Comets winning 11-0. The Spartans were always eager to get the ball moving on marking up the scoreboard, with Roselyn Hernandez scoring in the 5th minute from an assist by Jazymne Arispe.  Outsidebacks are once again ready to be game changers making an immense amount of runs forward outnumbering the Comets back line each obtaining a goal in each half, two goals from Elisa Dunn, left back, and two goals from Araceli Mejia right back. Lena Bachman leading goal scorer on the Spartans team right now with another goal in the first half and one more during the second half. Cielo Mendez hit an absolute banger from outside the 18 yd box when a shot by Spartans was deflected by Comet goalkeeper, Jazmyne Arispe settled the ball and laid it off for Cielo to smash the ball into the back of the net.

The Spartans left the half with a 6-0 lead, but they came back with unfinished business scoring 7 more goals in the second half. The Spartans were determined to not allow the Comets into their half holding about 85-90% of possession during both halves. Ashley Cazares, outsideback wanted to make her presence known by scoring her first collegiate goal during the first half and then opening the second half with a goal assisted by Raigen Jager. Jazmyne Arispe unassisted took on three Comets from between the 18-yard box and halfway driving into the box sliding the ball to the right corner.
