Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team had its four-match win streak snapped on Wednesday night at home.
The Lasers, ranked No. 5 in the state, lost to No. 2 San Diego Mesa, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.
IVC's record slipped to 6-3 overall. Mesa improved its mark to 11-3 overall.
Irvine Valley was in each and every set, but the Olympians found ways to close each frame out.
The Lasers hit .275 (32-13-69) as a team in the match.
Sophomore outside hitter Zach McEntire finished with 12 kills and hit .688 for the match. He also had five digs.
Also for IVC, freshman outside hitter and setter Grant Dvorak ended with six kills, hit .750 and added 19 assists.
Sophomore setter Nick Hinker had 11 assists and freshman libero Domenic Marquez chipped in seven digs.
Irvine Valley plays its third home match of the week on Friday when it hosts NAIA Saint Xavier University at 11 a.m.
