SAN DIEGO, CA (5/3/2023) -- Palomar College clinched the 2023 PCAC Championship with two weeks to go in the regular season and finished with an impressive 24-1 record, a conference-best since 2000. Head Coach Ben Adams was named Coach of the Year and outfielder Jack Sanders was the Player of the Year. The Comets landed seven on the All-PCAC team and seven were given an Honorable Mention nod. 

Sanders hit .440 in conference with six doubles, three triples and nine home runs for 42 RBI. He led the conference in triples, home runs, RBI and total bases at 79. Sanders racked up eight stolen bases in the conference schedule. In the field, he totaled 34 put outs and no errors.

Palomar's Kyle Carr was a double threat this season as he pitched and hit in conference. Carr led the conference in strikeouts at 61 and avergae 12.77 per game. He had a 2.30 conference ERA and hitters were hitting .157 against him. He had a conference-best 7-0 record. At the plate, he hit .543 with nine doubles, two triples and two home runs for 17 RBI. 

Brodie Romero (Grossmont) was the lone pick on the All-Conference team as the DH. In 99 plate appearacnes, Romero had 28 hits, including eight doubles and seven home runs for 24 RBI. His slashline was .412/.586/.838. He drew 16 walks and struckout 15 times.
