With a record eight state titles, all in the 21st century, Mt. San Antonio College has made its mark in the sport of women's basketball. 

The Mounties are off to a 3-0 start in the 2023-24 season and while it earned only the second most first-place votes with four, they scored 309 total points to become the new #1 team on this week's CCCWBCA State Top 25 Poll #2.

Butte had no first-place votes and its 286 total points lifted it into a #2 tie while last week's pre-season leader Orange Coast still earned the most first-place votes with seven, yet earned the same amount of points as Butte for the tie at #2.

Palomar (one first-place vote) was #4 with 281 while San Joaquin Delta (one first-place vote) filled out the top 5 with 263 points.

1. Mt. San Antonio, South Coast North, 3-0: The Mounties won its Linda Smith Tip-Off Classic, defeating Butte in overtime, 65-62, in the championship game. Dailani Richardson finished with 19 points and the tourney MVP. LW: #4
2T. Butte, Golden Valley, 3-1: The Roadrunners beat Santa Rosa in their season opener and settled for second place at the Mt. SAC tourney with semis win over Moorpark. Madalynn Bassett scored 42 points in the last two games of the tourney. LW: #3.
2T. Orange Coast, Orange Empire: The defending state champion Pirates open the season at the Moorpark Tournament on Nov. 9-11. LW: #1
4. Palomar, Pacific Coast Athletic: The Comets won their season opener, 86-44, over LA Trade Tech behind 26 points (eight 3s) by Faith Brinkman. LW: #2
5. San Joaquin Delta, Big 8, 3-0:
 The Mustangs win its opening Jocelyn Mancebo Tournament, defeating Folsom Lake, 77-73, in the title game. MVP Serenity Santos scored 25 points in the win. LW: #5.
6. Moorpark, Western State North, 2-1:
 The Raiders placed third at the Mt. SAC tourney, beating Long Beach, 66-60, in the finale. Mika Jarrett scored 23 in MC's opening win over Rio Hondo. LW: # 6
7. Sierra, Big 8, 1-0:
 The Wolverines downed Las Positas, 103-48, as Mikayla Bumgarner totaled 21 points and 16 rebounds. LW: #8
8. Santa Rosa JC, Big 8, 1-1:
 After its loss to Butte in the Bear Cubs opener, they beat Redwoods, 89-40, with an Ivy Gonzalez double-double, 20 points and 10 boards. LW: #7
9. CC San Francisco, Coast North:
 The Rams open v. Foothill on Wednesday. The pre-season buzz must be good to move up 2. LW: #11
10. Folsom Lake, Big 8, 2-1:
 The Falcons were second at the Delta tourney as All-Tournament Corrie Harrison averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds in three games. FLC won the semis v. Sequoias, 55-52. 8-spot leap up. LW: #18
11. Laney, Bay Valley, 2-1:
 The Eagles were consolation champs at the Delta tourney. All five starters scored in double digits in their 90-59 win over Merced. All-Tournament Jada Hunter had a triple-double (14 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 steals) in a win over Shasta. LW: #12
12. Sequoias, Central Valley, 2-1: The Giants took third place at the Delta tourney, beating Feather River, 56-45. All-Tournament Kyla Wandick scored 19 points in the win. LW: #10
13. Cypress, Orange Empire:
 The Chargers open at the Fresno Tournament v. FCC on Thursday. LW: #15
14. Fresno CC, Central Valley, 1-1:
 The Rams won their opener over Modesto, 106-61, behind 23 points off the bench by Corin Camera. LW: #9
15. Long Beach CC, South Coast South, 1-2:
 The Vikings won their opener over San Diego City before losing to Mt. SAC and Moorpark at the Mt. SAC tourney. Kimberly Cruz-Martinez averaged 13.3 points a game. LW #14
16. Mt. San Jacinto, Inland Empire Athletic:
 Under new head coach Taylor Bell, the Eagles host Antelope Valley to open the season at the San Jacinto Lions Club Tip-Off Classic Nov. 9-10. LW: #13
17. East Los Angeles, South Coast North, 2-0:
 The Huskies won two games at the Riverside Title IX Tip-Off Classic, including an 80-76 overtime win over San Mateo. They move up four spots. LW: #21
18. Ventura, Western State North:
 The Pirates open v. Victor Valley in the West LA Wild West Shootout Nov. 10-12. LW: #16
19. Irvine Valley, Orange Empire:
 The Lasers open v. Cerritos at the Riverside 9th Earning Our Stripes Tournament Nov. 9-11. LW: #17
20. Solano, Bay Valley, 1-0:
 What an opener for the Falcons, who upset Fresno, 73-67. Jade Dickson had 17 points and 13 rebounds. LW: Not Ranked.
21. Glendale, Western State South, 1-0:
 The Vaqueros opened with a 64-45 win over Cerritos as Malia Ulery scored 22 points. LW: #19
22. Imperial Valley, Pacific Coast Athletic, 3-0:
 The Desert Warriors won the Pasadena Sisterhood of Champions Tournament, defeating Canyons, 67-61, in the title game. Orian Anderson earned MVP honors, averaging 24 points a game. LW: Not Ranked.

 The Jaguars beat Las Positas, 103-70, in their opener as Tatiana Collazo scored 21 points off the bench. LW: #22
23T. Skyline, Coast North, 2-0:
 The Trojans leap on to the poll with wins over Marin and Modesto to open the season. Jenika Zurita scored 39 points in the two wins. LW: Not Ranked.
25. San Mateo, Coast North, 1-1:
 The Bulldogs beat Riverside 84-52, then gave ELAC all they can handle in an OT defeat. Jayonnah Carter scored 27 points v. East LA. LW: Not Ranked.
