Jags claim PCAC title

SAN DIEGO, CA (11/14/2022) -- Southwestern College claimed the 2022 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title after going 12-0-2 in PCAC play this season. The Jaguars finished their regular season with a 15-3-3 record and are awaiting playoff seeding information. 

Southwestern cruised through conference play going 7-0 before tying with MiraCosta College on Oct. 18 but was able to bounce back and win five more matches before the San Diego Mesa College Olympians tied with the Jags 1-1 on Nov. 8. 

The Jags were led by Ilucion Duron who led the conference with 16 goals and three assists on the season for 38 points. Elsa Sarabis was another standout sophomore for the Jags as she totaled 13 goals and seven assists for 33 points. Sophomore goalkeeper Erika Briseno started 18 games for the Jags and recorded 28 saves and allowed just five goals in conference play. She recorded 10 shutouts.
