Palomar looks to defend WWP title

The Palomar Comets will open the 2021 campaign as the defending Pacific Coast Athletic Conference champions after defeating Grossmont College in the title game of the 2019 PCAC Tournament championship in November of 2019.

Palomar's conference crown in 2019 was its first since 2016 as the Comets finished 19-9 overall and 6-1 in PCAC play, eventually falling to Citrus College in the CCCAA playoffs.

Palomar and the rest of the PCAC have now had nearly 22 months since last competing due to COVID-19.  How will the time off affect the eventual winner in 2021?  That's the million dollar question.

Programs from the PCAC open play this week, bursting with optimism.  All five programs are scheduled to open the season on September 1, with Palomar traveling to San Diego Miramar (2:00 PM), San Diego Mesa at Southwestern (2:00 PM) and Grossmont traveling to Crafton Hills (3:30 PM).
